Welcome Back to School and Welcome to Third Grade!!
August 23, 2023
Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to our class! I am looking forward to spending an exciting year with you in third grade. We learn a lot, we’re respectful and kind, which also makes school a lot of fun! There are great books to read, fun math activities, exciting hands-on social studies and science lessons and lots of writing. Our classroom is located in B08.
While many things are available in the classroom, some students like to have their own school supplies. The following is a list of supplies that you may want to bring to school:
*Thin Dry Erase Markers* (very important)
Red Pen
Yellow or pink highlighter
1 Box Pencils – #2 Soft and a pencil box to hold supplies
1 Composition Notebook for Writer’s Workshop
The items on this list are suggestions, not requirements. Please bring a healthy snack, and lunch on the first day. Please bring a REUSABLE water bottle, we’re very environmentally conscience. You will need sneakers for Gym.
The following is our SPECIALS schedule:
Monday – COMPUTERS
Tuesday – GYM and ART
Wednesday – MUSIC and GYM
Thursday – COMPUTERS
Friday – LIBRARY and STEM
Please feel free to contact me at school via telephone (voice mail), and I will return your call as soon as possible. The school telephone number is 973-983-6540. This number will connect you with the Lakeview voice mail system. Also please contact me though email, [email protected].
Enjoy the rest of your summer and know that I am looking forward to meeting you on the first day of school. Like I said, we learn a lot but we have a lot fun too! Take care and I’ll see you soon!
Your teacher,
Mrs. Barakat
